By incorporating the company’s 4-Color Pixels and Color Refiner features with LG Display’s advanced OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels, LG OLED TV generates the most natural colors of any TV set at a much lower price point than could have been achieved using the standard manufacturing process.

The folks at TechnoBuffalo got their hands on a Motorola Droid 4 dummy set, which is expected to be announced on CES 2012.

It is not a working unit as the phone internal is empty but the unit’s outlook, cover and weight should match the real thing perfectly.

Facebook Messenger for Windows Released

Facebook has officially released the Facebook Messenger for Windows trial application that lets you use Facebook without being on www.facebook.com. While you surf the web or use other applications on your computer, you can:

  • Chat and message with your friends on Facebook
  • See the latest updates from your friends in ticker
  • Get quick notifications about what’s going on

To try out the first version of this app, just complete a one-time setup and it will automatically install updates when they are available. The app is currently available for Windows 7 only.

Samsung Ships Over 1 Million Units of Galaxy Note Globally

Samsung Galaxy NoteSamsung Electronics said on the 29th that it has shipped more than 1 million units of Galaxy Note globally. The worldwide sales of Galaxy Note are also on the rise in Europe and Asia including France, Germany, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The rapid global sales of Galaxy Note are notable since it is creating a new market for something between smartphone and tablet pc. The speed of the global sales is expected to accelerate further next year when it will be available in the US.

LG Electronics (LG) will unveil the world’s largest 3D Ultra Definition (UD) TV at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. By combining LG’s industry-leading 3D technology and Smart TV function with UD display technology, the 84-inch TV breaks new ground in immersive 3D home entertainment.

LG’s 3D UD TV boasts superb picture quality with 8 million pixels, four times the resolution clarity (3840×2160) of existing Full HD TV panels. Combined with LG’s Slim and Narrow Bezel Design, the 3D UD TV provides the most convincing 3D viewing experience available outside of a movie theater. What’s more, 3D Depth Control allows users to customize their viewing experience by controlling the 3D effect while 3D Sound Zooming provides users with 3D sound that rivals the output of all but the best home theater systems.

Windows Phone Marketplace Passes 50,000 Apps

According to a report from AAWP, the Windows Phone Marketplace has now passed the 50,000 app and games submission mark. Content is being added at the rate of 265 items per day.

The 50,000 mark is a key milestone, but more important is the accelerating growth of the Marketplace. It took just over a year to get to 40,000 apps, but just 40 days to add the next 10,000 apps. That bodes well for Windows Phone in 2012.

Intel Begins Shipping New Atom Processors with New Features and Improved Battery Life

Intel Corporation today announced the availability of the latest mobile Intel Atom processor-based platform, formerly codenamed “Cedar Trail.” Designed to provide small, compact, on-the-go computing with great battery life at an affordable price, the latest platform adds several new features to netbook computers made popular by students, families, and those looking for light productivity and Internet browsing. These devices will be available in early 2012 from major OEMs including: Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and Toshiba.

The new design’s dedicated media engine enables full 1080p high-definition playback of videos and Blu-Ray content and includes additional digital display and output options including HDMI and DisplayPort. The integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3600/3650 combined with the integrated memory controller provides enhanced performance and system responsiveness, including an improvement in graphics performance up to 2X compared to the previous generation platform.

Systems based on the new Intel Atom processors may have up to 10 hours of battery life and weeks of standby, allowing for all-day use between charges. Additionally, Intel increased processor and overall system performance while reducing power consumption up to 20 percent compared to the previous platform.

Untethered Jailbreak Now Available for iOS 5.0.1 (Non-A5 Device)

iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak Now Available

After a long wait, finally Untethered Jailbreak is now available for iOS 5 (specifically the latest stable version 5.0.1).

The untethered jailbreak will only work with iOS 5.0.1 devices that does not use the latest A5 processor, which added some security features that makes it harder to jailbreak “untetheredly”. This include the following devices: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 GSM, iPhone 4 CDMA, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G & iPod Touch 4G

The jailbreak has been incorporated into redsn0w 0.9.10, the Pwnage Tool and Chronic Devteam’s Cydia package.

Sony Releases Firmware Update (Version 1.51) for PlayStation Vita

Sony just released their second firmware update for PlayStation Vita – Version 1.51.

According to Sony the update is released to improve the compatibility of PS Vita with the PlaySation Network, enhance security and also to fix a bug with the game “Dynasty Warriors: Next” which affected the game progress (we suspect that this has something to do with the game freezing issue which was reported by many users on multiple games).

You can update your PS Vita directly through WiFi, connecting it to a PS3, connecting it to a computer or by inserting a PS Vita card which contains the updated firmware.
